Surrounding Activities

Janda Baik is a beautiful quaint village with interesting places to visit:

• Janda Baik Goat Farm – Our next-door neighbour. Give our neighbour Ucop a call to book a farm tour in advance. The kids will love it especially if they get to feed the baby goats their milk. +60 18 248 3784

• River time – Splash in the river at Pulau Sentap (Sentap island) which has a fairly wide river (5 mins by car) or head to Charis, a quieter spot (15 mins by car).

• Waterfall hike –  Arrange a hike to the Lata Tampit 7-tier waterfall. This needs to be arranged with a licensed guide from Janda Baik’s Rukun Tetangga (Community Watch).

•  Art Gallery –  Visit Karya Janda Baik, an art gallery within the Figgies Cafe area. They also have art activities that children can take part in.

Cafes & Restaurants

• Istana Lemuni – Enjoy traditional Malay dishes and desserts surrounded by old Malay wood houses in the Terengganu style. A bit like being in an enchanting garden. The food quality and taste are exceptional, and the prices reflect this.

• ‘Malay’ Roti Canai Stall –  Try authentic ‘Malay’ style roti canai at the simpang tiga (three-way junction) opposite Agrobazaar, which is the main grocery store in Janda Baik.

• Kopi Ladang – Enjoy the coffee and its famous roti kaya with soft boiled eggs. This place is popular with bikers so expect a crowd by late morning.

• Pinto Coffee – lovely cafe made of wood and surrounded by forest trees. Visit for coffee, cakes and other food. Our favorite is the curry puffs.

• Pineyard Cafe – an upmarket cafe that offers quality western food in Tanarimba, a gated community area of Janda Baik

For evening, we suggest the following eateries:

• Hong Kong Wok Chinese Muslim Food

• Sulaiman Seafood (Thai Kelantanese)

• Pyor Cafe (opposite Kopi ladang)

• Figgies Cafe (western and Malay)

• Nero Bianco (western and Malay)
